Building the capability of students and young scientists is a priority for the Croplands Research Group and is the focus of a number of activities.

Fellowships and awards schemes help build the scientific knowledge of early career scientists, while ongoing training is provided through technical workshops, webinars, access to databases and participation in the Group’s Networks.

Fellowships and Awards Schemes

Borlaug fellowships: The US Department of Agriculture (USDA), in cooperation with the US Agency for International Development (USAID), has established a research fellowship scheme supporting developing country scientists to obtain the skills needed to measure and monitor agricultural greenhouse gases.

LABEX scientist exchanges: Embrapa Brazil provide opportunities for research collaboration through the LABEX exchange programme. The exchanges encourages research collaboration between Brazilian scientists and other countries, specifically early career scientists,  across priority research topics – including climate change.
