The Latin American Fund for Rice Irrigation (FLAR), Semillas El Potrero (FLAR member in Peru), the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) and the Research Program on Rice (CGIAR Rice Research Program), are organising the thirteenth International Rice Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The conference is aimed at students, producers, technicians, agronomists, plant breeders, industrialists and researchers interested in learning about the main advances of the rice sector in the region. With the slogan “Partnerships for the sustainability of rice production” we want to draw attention to key issues in five thematic areas:
- Genetic Improvement for Sustainability
- Sustainability in Rice Production
- Rice Quality at the Service of Sustainability
- Sustainable Markets and Businesses for Rice
- Rice and Society
There will also be a field trip to the rice valley of Piura.
The previous conference, held in Brazil in 2015, was attended by 460 participants from 30 countries.
