DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to invite you to a webinar marking the launch of the next generation of the interactive web application of FAO’s Global Livestock Environmental Assessment Model (GLEAM)\, on Wednesday 21 October 2026. \n\n\n\nFor our network\, the new web app offers new ways to use livestock GHG evidence in NDC development\, national GHG inventories\, and climate investment planning.   \n\n\n\n\nMethodology: Combines the IPCC Tier 2 methodology with a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach to estimate direct on-farm emissions and indirect emissions along the production chain.\n\n\n\nEnhanced features: Offers an updated interface\, revised methodologies and data\, and improved functionality.\n\n\n\nTransition: Will progressively replace the existing GLEAM-i platform.\n\n\n\nAdvanced analysis: For more detailed analyses\, customized modelling\, or the preparation of national GHG inventories\, users are encouraged to use the full-featured GLEAM-X R package.\n\n\n\n\nDuring the session\, we will highlight the new features\, technical improvements\, as well as the roadmap for new releases and opportunities to engage with the GLEAM team to provide feedback. The webinar will also include a live demonstration of the platform with practical use cases. \n\n\n\nTo accommodate participants across different time zones\, two sessions will be offered on the day. DESCRIPTION:Registrations are now open for the CIHEAM advanced course Reducing methane emissions in ruminants through nutrition: measuring\, management and accounting options. \n\n\n\nThis course will explore practical approaches to measuring\, managing\, and accounting for methane emissions from ruminant systems\, with a strong focus on nutrition-based strategies. \n\n\n\nKey details: \n\n\n\n\nDates: 27–29 October 2026\n\n\n\nFormat: Hybrid (Granada\, Spain)\, with 30 face-to-face places and 30 online places available\n\n\n\nRegistration deadline: 15 June 2026\n\n\n\n\nThe course is designed for senior public decision-makers\, policy advisors\, private sector representatives\, academics\, and extension specialists.
