Rumen Microbial Genomics Network Webinar – Nagoya Protocol: What does it mean in practice?

This is an information session about the implications of the Nagoya Protocol for researchers working with biological material from abroad. Institutions from around the world recognize the importance of compliance with this international framework and support its implementation. In this information event, the German Nagoya Protocol HuB project shares its expertise to give you relevant insights and necessary information to assess whether your research might also have ABS obligations to take into consideration. During this information event, we go step by step through what researchers need to know and do to be compliant with any obligations stemming from the Nagoya Protocol and the EU ABS regulation. You will hear about the user checks that have already started in Germany, what some of the direct consequences are for being non-compliant (e.g. fines, embargo of material and publications, etc.), and tools and tips already available for you to use and inform yourself.
