Samoa became the 64th member country and the first Pacific Island country to join the GRA in September 2020. Participation will be coordinated through the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
Samoa supports the priorities of the GRA. Samoa is:

Agricultural Inventory Capability Building Programme
Samoa and Fiji delegates travelled to New Zealand for the Agricultural Inventory Capability Building Programme. This programme was aimed at strengthening Pacific countries capabilities in agricultural greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting and where possible progress to locally appropriate Tier 2 inventories for livestock GHG emissions. Delegates experienced aspects of how New Zealand manages its own inventory reporting process, visited research centres to see first-hand research in agricultural emission factors, and participated in the 2023 New Zealand Agricultural Climate Change Conference.
