GRA MMN Meeting

June 5, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm EDT

The GRA Manure Management Network (MMN) is a global forum for scientists focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from livestock production and increasing the nutrient use efficiency of manures. Manure management is the handling, storage and disposal of urine and feces from livestock, other than the manure deposited directly onto pastures by grazing animals. MMN areas of research interest include: Improving our understanding of drivers of greenhouse gas emissions from manuresDeveloping a directory of mitigation strategies that can be applied…

Webinar: Methane emissions from manure management – monitoring and mitigation

February 23, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm CET

In this webinar, Anne Mottet (FAO), Dong Hongmin (Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences) and Andrew Vanderzaag (Agriculture & AgriFood Canada) will first present global trends in livestock production and methane emissions, and discuss methods of monitoring, mitigation and accounting. A new approach for estimation of methane emissions from manure management via measurements and an empirical model will then be introduced. This methodology was investigated in the ERA-Net project M4Models and will be presented by Søren O. Petersen and Paria Seefedpari.

Webinar : Manure Management Network – Measuring gas emission from farming with micrometeorological measuring techniques

November 13, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm NZDT

Gaseous emissions from agriculture contribute significantly to greenhouse gas (GHG) and ammonia in the atmosphere, and climate change and pollution of aquatic ecosystems. The emission must be reduced and in the quest for low emission technologies and management methods, there is a need for accurate measurements of the emission. Reliable data from measurements and studies is needed for the development of emission models, low emission systems and for calculating the contribution of GHG to the atmosphere from farming.  Three researchers…

Webinar : Measuring gas emission from livestock farming with chamber and tracer measuring techniques

January 29 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm NZDT

Gaseous emissions from agriculture contribute significantly to greenhouse gas (GHG) and ammonia in the atmosphere, and climate change and pollution of aquatic ecosystems. Reliable data from measurements and studies is needed for the development of technology and management practice to reduce emissions, calculate emission inventories (e.g. IPCC) and provide valid data to assess emissions reduction for carbon credit trade. Three researchers with extensive experience in measuring gas emission from farming will present the great potential in the use of the chamber…
