Launch of GRA modelling platform
On June 5, the UK Government Department of Environment Farming and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), to support the Croplands Research Group of the GRA, launched a free, open source modelling platform to help researchers, developers and students share expertise on the use of models for greenhouse gas emissions measurements. Knowledge shared through the Global Research Alliance Modelling Platform (GRAMP) is expected to help uncover strategies for using models to analyse the effect of agricultural management practices on greenhouse gas emissions, identify promising mitigation options, and assess the effect of future climate on emissions. Free monthly webinars will also be run, with the first on 16 June. To get involved, register online and visit the platform at gramp.org.uk
