Advancing research collaboration between countries relies on a collective understanding of individual countries’ current research priorities and activities. The Livestock Research Group routinely carries out ‘stocktakes’ to identify knowledge gaps, capability building needs and opportunities for joint research. Information from countries on who is doing what helps ensure that the Group’s efforts are appropriately targeted and add value, and also aids internal coordination within countries.
