The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks to recruit a consultant for a systematic literature review on adaptation practices in livestock in response to climate change in Kenya.

Background: Literature describing adaptation practices regarding livestock farming in detail is rare. Most research focuses on describing the impacts of climate change and then allocates varying farming practices as adaptation practice, presuming local land users adopted these as a linear response to climate change. To address these misconceptions, the adaptation team is conducting a systematic literature review to compare different adaptation practices and the underlying drivers in Kenya’s livestock systems. The review will enhance the understanding of adaptation responses and their effectiveness in reducing climate change risks.
